After the poor start to the year, the USA’s pellet output in the second quarter was back above the figure for a year earlier. At a total of 2.302m t, the figure for 2020 was exceeded by 4.6%. Figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) at the U.S. Department of Energy, show that the output of pellets for the heating market was 6.1% lower than last year at 417,213 t and the output of industrial pellets was increased 7.3% to 1.885m t. The result is a 3.6% reduction in production for the first half-year to a total of 4.291m t, of which 753,070 t was accounted for by pellets for the heating market and 3.538m t by industrial pellets.
