Moelven takes over prefab-house producer Hedalm

On 1 October, Norwegian Moelven completed the takeover of the Norwegian prefabricated-house producer Hedalm, after the transaction had been approved on 24 August by the Norwegian competition authorities. During the course of the formal takeover, Moelven changed the trading name Hedalm to ByggModul Hjellum. The existing Hedalm work force of roughly 80 has been taken over by Moelven. Moelven had concluded a contract of sale with the owners of Hedalm on 1 July; that contract had been subject to the reservation of approval by the competition authorities.

According to Lars Brede Aandstad, CEO of the prefabricated-house producer Moelven Byggmodul and of ByggModul Hjellum, work processes at both companies are currently being coordinated. Karsten Tanem, who had been CEO at Hedalm prior to the takeover, was appointed as plant manager at ByggModul Hjellum. Plant manager at Moelven Byggmodul is Hans Kristian Egner. With this takeover of Hedalm, Moelven has expanded its product range of modules for prefabricated house-building. Hedalm had specialised in the production of modules in 12 m lengths.
