Estonian pellet producer Graanul Invest intends, via its Latvian subsidiary Broceni Pellets, to build a pellet plant with a production capacity of 150,000t per annum in the Broceni district. The pellet plant is to be put into operation at the beginning of 2016. The company has already received permission from the responsible building authorities for construction of the plant on a recently acquired 16ha site. Moreover, Broceni Pellets has also entered into long-term delivery contracts with sawmills and forestry companies in the region. Graanul Invest has not yet announced with which industrial equipment manufacturers it has concluded delivery contracts. Recently, Graanul Invest’s Estonian subsidiary Osula Graanul began production at its pellet plant at the Vörumaa location, which is designed for a capacity of 250,000t per annum. With the new Broceni production location, Graanul Invest will own a total of eight pellet plants.
