Schattdecor is poised to commission a treater that is presently being installed at a site run by its Italian subsidiary Schattdecor s.r.l. by the end of May 2012. This line, which has a working width of 2,200mm and was supplied by Tocchio is designed to make melamine films for laminating. A second treater that can make both melamine films and post-impregnates for use in the caravan sector is to follow at a later date. Schattdecor has already placed an option with Tocchio for this technology. The two treaters were originally slated to be installed in a new production hall. However, the company brought forward these plans due to the recent need for additional melamine film capacity. The machinery is thus being installed in a hall that had been used as a warehouse in the past. The firm is offsetting the resulting reduction in inventory space by renting additional exterior warehouses.
