Increase noted in differences in capacity utilisation between decor paper producers

In view of the pulp prices that have been rising again since the start of the year and the mark-ups announced by titanium-dioxide manufacturers for the second quarter, the majority of decor-paper manufacturers are sticking to their plans for more price increases in the second quarter. Buyers had already been notified of these plans in preliminary talks that began in early February. According to statements from buyers, however, the planned increases in prices have not taken more concrete shape yet; the majority of decor-paper manufacturers are waiting to see the outcome of the ongoing titanium-dioxide negotiations. Several companies believe the titanium-dioxide manufacturers can only get their mark-ups accepted in a considerably reduced form, if at all.
