Swedish sawmills succeed in reducing inflated stocks

29.09.2015 −

The Swedish forest industries federation (Skogsindustrierna) is assuming that the output and exports of softwood lumber in Sweden is going to increase in 2015. In its latest half-year report, Skogsindustrierna is forecasting an output of around 17.9m m³, which would equate to an increase of 0.6m m³ or roughly 3.5% against the same period of last year. Higher production figures are only expected in the south of Sweden where a variety of companies have completed several investment projects in the last twelve months with the aim of increasing their lumber output.
