Holtec supplies roundwood sorting to Hasslacher

25.03.2019 −

In the course of the capacity expansion announced in May 2018 by the Austrian Hasslacher Group for the sawmill in Preding, Holtec will supply a new roundwood sorting system. According to Holtec, the order includes roundwood sorting with chainless feeding. A new feature will be a cutting-edge milling disc. The downstream debarking plant of the Finnish Valon Kone can be equipped with a maximum speed of 130 m/min via a Gap-Control TM control system. The project is to be implemented in summer 2019.

After completion of the investment programme with a volume of around € 30 million at the Carinthian production sites in Sachsenburg, Hermagor and Stall im Mölltal in January last year, Hasslacher announced that it would invest a further € 30m in the expansion of the Hasslacher Preding Holzindustrie site by the beginning of 2020. Once the measures have been completed, the sawmill's cutting capacity is to increase from the current 250,000 m³ in the course of the coming year to up to 600,000 m³/year in the future.
