GP has put sawmill in Talladega into operation

The US company Georgia-Pacific (GP) officially opened its new sawmill in Talladega/Alabama on Monday. The capacity of the plant at the Group's former plywood site, which was shut down in 2008, is around 230m bdft/year. GP has invested a total of around US$100m in the new sawmill. Construction began in the fall of 2017 and trial operation began in the summer of 2018. Talladega increases the number of sites operated by GP in Alabama to eight, including three sawmills.
