Fire at Mosser causes breakdown of sawline

27.11.2020 −

On 12 November, a fire at the Zarnsdorf sawmill location of Austrian Mosser Group damaged the first machinery group of the reducer bandsaw line. According to managing director Reinhard Mosser, there was no other damage either in the immediate vicinity of the machine or the building. Mosser expects, however, that cutting at the facility, which has an annual capacity of some 400,000m³/annum and has been supplied by USNR, formerly Söderhamn Eriksson, will only resume at the end of the current year. Conclusive investigations concerning the damage are currently being carried out.

According to company information, downtime at the sawmill has had no effect so far on Mosser’s gluelam production in Randegg, located around 13km away from Zarnsdorf, where an annual volume of up to 200,000m³ gluelam and laminated beams can be produced.
