Bergs takes over assets of Rörvik's Myresjö sawmill

12.04.2017 −

According to Swedish media reports, Swedish Bergs Timber is to take over the assets of the decommissioned Myresjö spruce sawmill owned by Rörvik Timber. Details regarding the purchase price have not been revealed. There are no plans to continue lumber production at the Myresjö site. Bergs Timber's CEO Peter Nilsson states that the sawing lines are to be used at the company's other sites.

The Myresjö mill, which had been configured for annual production capacity of 150,000 m³, was shut down by Rörvik at the end of December 2016. After no new operator could be found for the mill, employees had been given notice at the beginning of March.
