Craciunescu to resign as general director of Romsilva

16.02.2016 −

Adam Craciunescu is to resign from his position as general director of the Romanian State Forest Administration, Romsilva (Bucharest), as per 21 March. Reports to this effect have appeared in Romanian daily newspapers. Craciunescu handed in his resignation on 14 January, citing personal reasons. However, over the course of 2015 there had been increasing criticism of Romsilva due to possible illegal timber harvesting measures as well as criticism, on the part of the timber industry, of the sharp increase in roundwood prices. Craciunescu has been general director of Romsilva since May 2012. At that time he was appointed for five years until 2017.
