Schwaiger: Construction timber production ending

The sawmill Schwaiger will no longer be producing construction timber for project lists as from January 2016 and will be concentrating instead on manufacturing normal national and international standard lumber assortments for the trade and craft sectors and for the industry from now on. Schwaiger informed its customers in a circular letter that orders for construction timber for project lists would continue to be accepted until 11 December. These have been produced in week 51.

The company said the decision was due to ever-decreasing demand. Besides the regressive demand, the decreasing supply of longwood for years now has also played a part. This had made it correspondingly more difficult to obtain the assortments of logs required for producing construction timber.
