Klausner Lumber One, the Klausner group’s first US sawmill operator, started up a sawmill in Live Oak, Florida towards the end of January 2015. Sources close to the firm said that a Linck VM50 chipping line and a lumber sorting line had been installed and commissioned to date. A power plant and drying kilns were also already in operation. Another sorting line and the first planing line with a feed rate of about 900 m/min are still being installed. The first logyard with a cross-scanner and a trimmer were provided by Austrian Springer Maschinenfabrik and have been in use since the middle of the fourth quarter. A second logyard is to be created soon to increase log stocks at the mill. Southern yellow pine logs are currently sourced within a radius of around 65 miles, which is to be widened to up to 100 miles as sawmilling capacity increases.
Klausner Lumber One now up and running
