Kaamos finishes construction of sorting unit

Kaamos Timber had already finished setting up a new roundwood-sorting system at its Mozyr facility in Belarus at the end of September. The plant, supplied by Hekotek, has 46 sorting bays and is scheduled to commence operation along with a used HewSaw chipping line from Veisto in summer 2022. According to plans by Kaamos Timber, the sawmill, geared to an annual cutting capacity of 750,000 m³ of roundwood, is to have an annual output of 250,000 m³ of sawn softwood to start with. Mühlböck is supplying five kilns for the sawmill. Roughly €25m is being spent on the investment project. €15m of this are being financed with a seven-year loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Kaamos Timber had already put a sawmill with an annual production capacity of 250,000 m³ of sawn softwood and trading under the name of Vitebskaja Lesopilka into operation at the Vitebskaja facility in Belarus in 2003.
