James Jones acquires 60% share in XLam owner

James Jones & Sons has taken over a 60% stake in Mayflower Enterprises. Mayflower Enterprises is the owner of Hyne Timber and XLam NZ. Hyne Timber has a combined output of 800,000 m³ of pine sawnwood at the sawmilling facilities in Tuan, Queensland, and Tumbarumba, New South Wales. Hyne Timber has also been operating a gluelam-timber works at its headquarters since 2020.

XLam has an annual output of around 60,000 m³ of cross-laminated timber (CLT) at the Wodonga works in Victoria, which was put into service in 2018. The company is also represented with a gluelam works modernised in 2019 and located in the immediate vicinity of Hyne Timber’s Tuan facility. In its business year 2020/2021 (30 June), Mayflower Enterprises generated sales revenue of AUD380m (roughly equivalent to €240m).
