Increase of 5.2% registered in UK lumber output

British sawmills processed 6.532m t (6.198m t) of softwood logs into 3.536m m³ (2012: 3.361m m³) of lumber in 2013, 5.2% more than in the previous year. At 6.407m t (6.073m t), by far the largest proportion of the sawn logs originated from British forests. Log imports were comparatively low at 126,000 t (124,000 t). ...
