Canadian Edgewood Forest Products is to invest a total of Can$25m in the modernisation of its sawmill. During the course of 2015, the existing sawing line will be replaced by a line from Linck. The existing upstream feed and downstream sorting line will be retained. The objective of the investment measures is to achieve not only higher productivity but also an increase in the current maximum roundwood diameter which can be processed. Following completion of the project, the mill's production capacity will have increased from its present level of 100m bdft to 140m bdft per year. Parallel to the replacement investment at the sawmill, Edgewood Forest Products also plans to expand the site's drying capacity.
