Kitchen industry believes sales growth possible in 2021

17.11.2020 −

German manufacturers of kitchen furniture and electrical appliances consolidated in AMK are expecting increases in sales and turnover during the current year. This positive trend should continue in 2021. The kitchen furniture industry was able to make up for the slump in April and May caused by corona-related lockdowns as early as the end of August. According to figures published by VdDK accumulated total turnover was back slightly above the preceding year’s figure at €3.264bn. For the year 2019 as a whole the VdDK had reported a turnover increase of 3.2% to €5.032bn. The German kitchen trade performed slightly better in each case. According to the GfK Panelmarkt Deutschland - Küchen compiled by GfK total sales turnover rose by 6.0% last year (volume +3.9%, order value/price +2.0%). According to figures available to date, sales turnover had already increased by 0.5% in the first six months of 2020. The 3.7% decline in sales volume was compensated for by the 4.3% increase in order value/price.
