The British DIY retailer Homebase booked a 2.5% sales dip to £475m in the 18 weeks from late August to the end of the year. In the first ten months of the 2011/2012 business year sales reached £1.315bn, a reduction of 2.1% over the prior year. Especially big ticket sales were down, the company reports, whereas sales for the remaining categories were broadly flat.
