XXXLutz Group has acquired a stake in Conforama Suisse via MW Holding. As company spokesperson Thomas Saliger confirmed upon request, the Swiss national subsidiary of the discount chain will thus in future also be part of the purchasing association GIGA International. Entry into the association took place on 13 January. Conforama Suisse will be incorporated into the GIGA-France division. The parties have agreed not to disclose the exact details of the transaction.
Majority shareholder of Conforama Suisse is Swiss entrepreneur Dan Mamane, who had acquired the company from Steinhoff International Holdings in mid-2020. Conforama Suisse operates 22 branches. In 2019 - prior to the outbreak of the corona crisis - the company had generated turnover of CHF450m.
