Latvia: Furniture industry turnover improves in Q3

In the third quarter turnover of the Latvian furniture industry increased by 1% to €46.3m vis à vis the comparative period of the preceding year. According to the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia, this means that the rate of growth recorded in the first quarter (+17% to €49.7m) and second quarter (+9% to €46.9m) slackened off again in autumn.

In the accumulated period from January to September the Latvian furniture industry generated turnover of €143.0m. This represents an increase of 9% vis à vis the comparative period of the preceding year. While domestic turnover, at €31.9m, fell 4% short of last year's figure, export turnover in-creased by 13% to €111.1m.
