Kitchen industry delivers small growth in first-half ordering

The internal order panel of the German kitchen furniture industry association (VdDK) reveals a minor improvement in the number and value of incoming orders during the first six months of this year. In unit terms, order intake rose by 0.6%. The VdDK recorded a marginal 0.3% dip in German orders. The number of orders placed by companies outside Germany climbed 2.0% in the first six months. In value terms, order intake was also 0.6% higher than the previous year between January and June. The rise in German revenues (+0.7%) was slightly stronger than the increase in exports (+0.5%). Panel data details information about the net order value provided by selected companies in euros before discounts, bonuses, rebates and other factors reducing revenues. Order intake in unit terms includes cupboards including cooker enclosures and shelves.
