Ikea opens first store and online shop in Slovenia

On 25 February the Ingka Group opened its first Ikea store in Slovenia. The 31,000m² store is located in a shopping centre in the capital city Ljubljana. Due to the current corona situation, any visits to the store must be booked in advance and can only take place within the selected period. Ikea furthermore established a collection point in Maribor, where customers can pick up products ordered online. The Slovenian Ikea online shop has also been launched on 25 February. Customers can also choose the option of having products ordered online delivered to their home. Ikea indicates the total investment volume in Slovenia to be at €90m. The company currently has almost 400 employees in this country. Including the new Slovenian market, the Ingka Group is currently represented in 32 countries.

The company is the largest Ikea franchisee and one of a total of twelve groups of companies to have concluded franchise agreements with Inter Ikea Systems.
