Nobia to axe 200 jobs in Great Britain

Nobia intends to axe approximately 200 jobs in the administrative area and thus reduce its personnel costs by SEK150m (equivalent to €14.2m) annually. Around half of these planned savings are to be achieved in 2022. The plans are still subject to the usual negotiations with trade unions. Most of the job cuts will be in the British market. One-off costs incurred in connection with the job cuts are expected to amount to SEK130-150m in the second quarter.

Nobia just recently announced the reorganisation of two of its three business divisions. Since the beginning of the year, exclusively the Magnet brand has remained in the region UK. The two other British brands - Commodore and CIE - have meanwhile been integrated into the newly created portfolio business units division. This division also comprises kitchen manufacturers Ewe Küchen and Bribus Holding - which were previously assigned to the Central Europe region - as well as Swedish Superfront, which was acquired on 14 January. Superfront develops and sells fronts, side panels, handles and bases for Ikea cabinets such as the Pax wardrobe, the Metod and Faktum kitchen series or the Bestå sideboard and cabinet series.
