The German furniture industry posted roughly unchanged revenues of €1.254m in January 2015 compared with the first month of 2014. Back then, turnover had dipped 3.1 % compared with January 2013. Lower revenues were booked both in Germany (-3.4 %) and abroad (-1.8 %). According to statistics from the German Federal Office in Wiesbaden that were compiled by the Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM) revenues generated in Germany and abroad headed in opposite directions in January 2015. Domestic turnover decreased 0.9 % to €874.3m, but foreign revenues improved 3.1 % to €380.6m. All sectors apart from household furnishings enjoyed a growth in revenues in January.
