France: furniture trade turnover down 2.5% in 2023

Kitchen furniture and specialised trade both record 6.9% turnover decline

French furniture traders concluded the full year of 2023 with gross turnover of €14.6bn (2022: 14.9bn). This corresponds to a year-on-year decline of 2.5%. In this context, however, French market research institute IPEA (Paris) points out that, at 8%, the decline in volume was much more pronounced.
