Triton acquired the majority in Kährs with effect from 18 May 2011. The prospect of his takeover had begun to emerge a few weeks ago. Kährs' previous majority owner, a consortium comprising several banks, had evidently been intending to sell the company for quite some time. The Swedish financial newspaper Dagens Industi had already reported in October 2010 that Kährs was up for sale.
