Shifts in turnover at Mohawk flooring RoW

In the 2020 financial year, shifts between the individual sales regions and product groups of the flooring rest of the world business division have occurred once again at Mohawk Industries. Design flooring business was further expanded. Turnover generated with laminate flooring and parquet has remained virtually unchanged over the last several years. By contrast, in the product range other - which includes activities from wood-based panels, roof elements and insulating materials and also licensing business - turnover has continuously declined. In the 2018 financial year, turnover of US$902.7m had been generated in this area. The amount generated had fallen to US$861.2m in 2019, and to just US$820.1m in 2020.

Turnover in the laminate & wood division declined only slightly over the past three years (2018: US$850.3m, 2019: US$849.3m, 2020: US$847.5m). In contrast, significant growth was recorded in the carpet & resilient division. Starting from the figure of US$645.7m achieved in 2018, turnover of US$785.3m was then generated in the following year. With the US$857.8m recorded for 2020, this product range surpassed the turnover volume generated in the laminate & wood division for the first time.

With the varying development across the individual product groups, total turnover of the business division has gradually increased over the past three years, with the upward trend slowing last year. In 2018, flooring RoW had generated US$2.402bn; in 2019 US$2.496bn was recorded. US$2.525bn was generated in 2020.
