Jeld-Wen snaps up more firms in US and Australia

13.04.2018 −

US-American Jeld-Wen Holding acquired the Australian firm A&L Windows with effect from 28 February. A&L primarily makes aluminium windows for use in homes and patio doors and operates production facilities and showrooms in the Australian states of Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. A&L recently generated revenues of about AUD130m or approximately US$100.5m. The company was founded by Arion Pierson and Les Johns in 1980 and was owned by them until Jeld-Wen took over the reins.

In North America, Jeld-Wen inked a deal to acquire American Building Supply (ABS). This transaction is subject to approval by the authorities and will likely close towards the end of the first quarter. ABS makes Millennium and Doormerica brand doors and also sells doors, frames, fittings and profiles made by other producers, such as Jeld-Wen. ABS generates annual revenues of about US$275m.
