I4F takes action in USA against Välinge licensee

26.11.2018 −

In mid-November, the intellectual property company Innovations4Flooring (I4F) filed a patent infringement suit at the District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against the US flooring distributor Carpet Express and the LVT supplier Beauflor US LLC, which belongs to the Beaulieu International Group (BIG).

According to I4F, the two companies are infringing one of I4F's US TripleLock patents, US 10,053,868, with Beauflor's Boardwalk LVT product line, which is marketed through Carpet Express. Beauflor relies on a license from Välinge Innovation for the production of the Boardwalk floorcoverings, allowing it to use Välinge Innovation's 5Gi laying system.
