Fortune Brands wants to buy Larson for US$660m

14.01.2021 −

The US conglomerate Fortune Brands Home & Security wants to acquire the door and window manufacturer Larson Manufacturing. The net purchase price was set at about US$660m. Fortune Brands is not planning any major changes to Larson’s current management team. Its four production sites in Brookings, Lake Mills (Iowa), Mocksville (North Carolina) and Senatobia (Mississippi), and 1,200 jobs are to be retained. In addition to making house doors and draft shield doors, Larson also makes windows and accessories, such as screen doors. Its annual revenues stood at approximately US$390m.

Fortune Brands will integrate Larson into its Doors & Security division, which is to be renamed Outdoors & Security. The acquisition will boost its product and brand portfolio in the outdoor living space arena. Outdoors & Security also includes the WPC decking brand Fiberon and the house door brand Therma-Tru. Along with its Outdoors & Security activities, Fortune Brands has Cabinets and Plumbing divisions. Fortune Brands generated total revenues of US$4.431bn in the first nine months of 2020, including US$1.053bn from Doors & Security.
