According to the US-American stock-exchange information service Seekingalpha and various business newspapers, Mohawk is currently negotiating a larger purchase in the sector of ceramic tiles. The object of their interest is apparently the Italian Marazzi Group, which boasts twelve production sites in Italy, Spain, France, Russia and the USA and a work force of 6,000. The Italian group achieved production volume of 95m m² and generated turnover of €832.5m in 2011 and showed revenues of €428m in the first half of 2012. The Italian business newspaper Il Mondo reports that Mohawk is currently conducting a process of due diligence at Marazzi and has also been granted exclusivity in the current negotiations. According to unconfirmed information, a purchase price is US$1.2bn (equivalent to €925m) is under consideration.
