Canadian softwood lumber exports to the USA in the second quarter of 2014 increased year on year by 11.5% to 3.213bn bdft, an amount equivalent to a volume of roughly 7.58m m³. As they had in the first quarter, producers from the Province of Québec expanded exports by roughly 33% to 497.36m bdft. According to data released by the Softwood Lumber Controls Division (TNC) export figures also showed a rise again in the second quarter for the Province of British Columbia, at 6.2% to 1.533bn bdft, after the first three months of this year had shown a minus of 14% for that region.
