19% increase in Segezha Group’s sales revenue

12.01.2017 −

Higher sales volumes of lumber, plywood, fibreboard, and paper sacks raised the sales revenue of Russian Segezha Group in the third quarter of 2016 by 19% against the same quarter of the year before to RUB10.5bn (roughly equivalent to €146m). EBITDA and the operating result increased by almost 30% each to RUB2.2bn and RUB1.4bn respectively due to shifts in the product mix and the ensuing improvement in average selling prices. The result for the period fell by 33% to RUB400m, however, owing to extraordinary expenditure.

The consolidation of Siberian LDK 1 taken over in early February contributed to the doubling in lumber and fibreboard sales to 234,600 m³ and 15.3m m² respectively. The volume of gluelam sales quadrupled to 8,200 m³ m³; an increase of 3% was registered in birch plywood to 24,000 m³. The volume of paper sack sales was 19% higher than a year earlier at 384.2m units. Deliveries of paper and board fell by a fifth to 35,600 t because production was halted for 15 days in September in connection with the modernisation of the existing pulp and paper machines at the Segezha facility.
