The Finnish company Stora Enso intends to build a cross laminated timber (CLT) plant with an annual capacity of 120,000 m³/year at its Zdirec site in the Czech Republic, while the expansion of gluelam production by 60,000 m³ is planned in Ybbs, Austria.
According to an announcement published on 19 July, a feasibility study was commissioned for the total investment of around €90 million, which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020.
If the new and expansion investments were implemented, the Group would in future have four CLT plants with a total capacity of around 390,000 m³/year.
