Setra supplying 1,700 m³ of CLT for Cederhusen project

Setra Group has won the contract for supplying cross-laminated timber (CLT) for the planned “Cederhusen” project in Stockholm. The order covers the delivery of a total of 1,700 m³ of CLT as well as smaller quantities of gluelam timber. The CLT will be used as transverse walls, floors, and ceilings as well as for shaft construction in the 10 to 13-storey blocks with a combined total of 234 apartments. Assembly of the first CLT elements on the building site is to begin in summer upon completion of the foundations for the first of a total of four apartment blocks. The CLT will be supplied from the works currently still under construction in Långshyttan, which is scheduled to commence production at the middle of the year. The works has an annual production capacity of 55,000 m³.

The project is being realised by the Swedish timber-construction company Folkhem Trä, which belongs to Veidekke. Cederhusen is regarded as the biggest timber-construction project underway in Sweden at the moment.
