Setra plans to build CLT works in Långshyttan by mid-2020

Swedish Setra Group wants to build a cross-laminated timber works with an annual capacity of 55,000 m³ in two-shift operation at its Långshyttan facility by mid-2020. Setra intends to supply the timber for producing the CLT from the Skinskatteberg pine sawmill in Bergslagen, Västmanland.

No details have been disclosed with regard to the cost of the investment and the machinery suppliers yet. Setra has had a gluelam-beam works with a capacity of around 45,000 m³ p.a., roughly 70% of which is exported, in Långshyttan for a number of years.
