Russian pellet exports increase by 11%
In the second quarter, Russian exports of pellets increased by 11% to 523,423t. According to the Russian customs authority, 211,471t of this figure, and 40% of total exports, were sold to customers in Denmark. Increases were also recorded in deliveries to Belgium (+76% to 73,971t), South Korea (+347% to 59,982t) and Great Britain (+66% to 47,996t). Declines were recorded in exports to countries such as Sweden (-86% to 6,921t) and the Netherlands (-41% to 21,646t). In the first quarter, exports had increased by 20% to 445,286t. Accumulated over the first six months, a volume of 968,709t pellets was exported, representing growth of 15%.
According to Rosstat, in the first nine months a volume of approximately 1.5m t pellets was produced; compared to the preceding year this corresponds to an increase of 6.4%.
