Recommissioning of Port Arthur has been delayed

The reopening of the transshipment and storage terminal in the port of Port Arthur planned by German Pellets Texas, a former member of German Pellets, has been delayed. According to a report by the Beaumont Enterprise, the terminal, which was severely damaged by a fire in February 2017, is now scheduled to reopen in autumn.

Market observers regard the recommissioning of Port Arthur as an essential prerequisite for the continuation of the sales process for the 580,000 t pellet plant of Texas Pellets in Woodville, Texas, which began last year and has been halted for the time being after the fire. According to the current overview of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) at the U.S. Department of Energy, the pellet plant is temporarily out of operation.
