Ikea increases pellet capacity in Poland

10.10.2017 −

At the beginning of September, Ikea Industry Poland, which belongs to the Ikea Group, commissioned a pellet plant with an annual capacity of 60,000t at the Stalowa Wola sawmill location. Together with the two locations of Resko (36,000t) and Wielbark (40,000t), production capacity in Poland for production of pellets for the heating market has therefore increased to a total of some 130,000t/annum.

The plant has two presses with an output of 10t/hour. No information has been provided on the type/manufacturer of the presses nor on the other suppliers of equipment. The plant, construction of which commenced in June 2016, has a bagging machine. As at the other two locations, production is predominantly focussed on pellets for the heating market in accordance with the ENplus and DINplus standard.
