Great Britain produces 42.3m new pallets

17.03.2017 −

In Great Britain, production of new pallets in 2015 reached roughly 42.3m and repairs totalled roughly 39.0m units. According to a market study conducted by John Cleeg Consulting, on behalf of the Timber Packaging & Pallet Confederation (Timcon) and the Forestry Commission, Edinburgh, which was published at the end of February 2017, a total of approximately 29.6m new and 27.3m repaired pallets were accounted for by member businesses of Timcon.

Compared to the production and repair figures shown for 2013, numbers associated with Timcon businesses were therefore down by 5.7% and 21.6% respectively, though Timcon states that a comparison with 2013 has only limited validity because of differing bases for the data.
