Finsa to enter CLT production business

27.11.2020 −

Financiera Maderera (Finsa) is set to add cross-laminated timber (CLT) to its portfolio of wood-based panel products for use in construction at the beginning of 2021. The company has built a new facility in Coirós, Galicia, which is about 30 km south-west of La Coruña, together with the sawmill operator Maderas Goiriz, which is also part of the same group. Identical reports in Spanish newspapers indicated that some €15m had been invested in building the hall and installing the automated production line.

In the first stage, the new plant will employ about 30 workers. Doing business as Xilonor, the plant will turn pine into CLT, making products a maximum of 12 m long and 3 m wide.
