Bayram Timber taken over by BSW Timber Group

BSW Timber Group took over the wood-processing company Bayram Timber on 20 May. Bayram Timber is being integrated into the value-adding and sales division BSW Timber Solutions, run by managing director Bruce McKaye. John Grace, currently managing director of Bayram Timber, enters retirement in July. Bayram Timber’s chairman, Geoff Goodwin, is switching from non-executive director to the board of BSW Timber Solutions. Commercial director Chris Husband is in charge of BSW Timber Solutions’ sales in future at the same post.

At the Melton and Hull facilities, Bayram Timber annually processes 120,000 m³ of planed goods into garden and packaging wood as well as wood products for the caravan industry. In its business year 2019/2020 (31 October), the company generated sales revenue of £23.7m with 160 employees. BSW Timber Solutions, which generates annual sales revenue of around £145m, operates a distribution centre at the company headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent and has value-adding equipment at each of the sales facilities in Melton, Welshpool, and Cumbernauld. The acquisition of Bayram Timber further strengthens the sales division BSW Timber Solutions. BSW Timber had only taken over the value-adding and trading activities of SCA through SCA Wood Supply UK on 1 December, simultaneously renaming them BSW Timber Solutions.
