Northeast Wood Products commissions pellet plant

US-American Northeast Wood Products LLC (NWP), will commence pellet production at its plant in Jasper (Tennessee, USA) before the end of this year, thereby increasing the number of its production sites to three. Production is then to be increased in phases up to the technical capacity of 125,000 t/year in the first quarter. The plant currently boasts total storage capacity for 10,000 t of pellets. In a second development phase which is already planned, the plant's capacity is to be doubled to 250,000 t/year by 2017; the necessary space requirements for the installation of a second identical production line have already been secured.

At the Jasper site, NWP will also produce mainly premium pellets marketed under the brand name ThermaGlo for the regional heating market and for export. The company produces not only 40 lb (18.14 kg) sacked goods but also sacked goods containing 15 kg.
