Tolko to put High Prairie OSB works into service

Canadian Tolko Industries has given more concrete shape to the planned reopening of the works in High Prairie, Alberta, that had been shut down in February 2008. According to a decision published on 20 June 2017, production at the facility geared to an annual capacity of 640m sqft per year (3/8” basis) is to be resumed and the beginning of 2018.

Tolko intends to employ 175 people at the works when operating at full capacity. Recruitment of suitable personnel is underway at present. Doug Stangier had already been taken on as plant manager in January. He had previously worked for Weyerhaeuser and Norbord. Here, Stangier had worked as an executive at various facilities, particularly in the maintenance and repair sector.
