Softwood plywood duty-free quota: Around 180,000m³ used up

01.02.2011 −

Around 180,000m³ or 28% of the 650,000m³ duty-free quota for softwood plywood imports into the European Union were used up by 24 January 2011. As such, the duty-free quota is depleting a little faster than last year, when around 150,000m³ had been imported duty-free into the EU by that time. The quota lasted significantly longer than in previous years in 2010. According to information from the EU Commission's Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union, the quota was filled on 9 July; the final quantities were allocated duty-free status on 13 July.
