Roseburg wraps up purchase of a third MDF facility

28.02.2019 −

Roseburg Forest Products completed its acquisition of an MDF mill in El Dorado, Arkansas doing business as Del-Tin Fiber LLC from PotlachDeltic on 13 February. This deal had originally been brokered in mid-December. Roseburg had previously finalised the due diligence process launched in the second half of December and received approval from anti-trust authorities.

Roseburg now has three MDF/HDF locations in North America with the integration of the El Dorado mill. In September 2015, the company acquired a mill in Medford, Oregon from Sierra Pine. Its March 2018 acquisition of Canadian Pembroke MDF closed in April. Earlier reports suggest that the Medford MDF mill has an annual capacity of roughly 250,000 m³, while Pembroke can make 280,000 m³. The El Dorado mill was recently said to have an annual capacity of approximately 265,000 m³. Roseburg now has a total annual MDF/HDF capacity of close to 800,000 m³.
