GreenPlac wants to invest in second production line

10.07.2018 −

The Brazilian company Asperbras plans to expand the MDF/HDF plant at the Água Clara/Mato Grosso do Sul site, which is being built under the name "GreenPlac", by a second production line in the foreseeable future. This was said by Asperbras shareholder Francisco Carlos Colnagh at the inauguration of the first MDF/HDF plant on July 4. This plant, designed for an annual capacity of around 250,000 m³, had produced its first board in the course of the first quarter and has since been gradually ramped up.

The contract for the delivery of the complete production line was awarded to the Siempelkamp Group in the first quarter of 2014. Siempelkamp subsequently supplied the entire fiber preparation, the forming and press line with a continuous press measuring 9 ft x 27.1 m, the final production, an energy plant, a short-cycle press as well as engineering and steel construction. The refiner was supplied by Andritz AG. Plant installations started in the first half of 2017.

When the MDF/HDF project was announced, Asperbras had already promised to build a second production line. According to the plans at that time, the second plant with an annual capacity of around 460,000 m³ was to be almost twice as large as the first plant, whose capacity at that time had been specified as 220,000 m³. According to Colnagh, the total capacity of the plant is to be increased to around 650,000 m³ with the construction of the second plant. This results in a projected capacity of around 400,000 m³ for the second plant.
