Another dip in German raw particleboard production

30.01.2018 −

German raw particleboard manufacturing (commodity tariff number 1621 13 131) slipped a little in the third quarter of last year after already declining in the second quarter of 2017. Preliminary figures from the German Federal Statistical Office show that total output was down 0.8% at 1.001m m³. Echoing what happened in the second quarter, production of particleboard destined for sale saw a bigger decline of 1.7% to 704,509 m³. In both instances, output was much lower than in the first two quarters.

Melamine-faced particleboard (1621 13 133) production climbed 4.0% to 610,759 m³ in Germany in the third quarter. This figure was in-between the levels recorded in the first (646,634 m³) and second (607,757 m³) quarters. Laminate element (1621 13 132) manufacturing was up 5.5% at 87,992 m³.

Looking at the first three quarters combined, German raw particleboard production was 0.6% higher than the same stretch in 2016 owing to growth in the first quarter on the whole and in output of particleboard destined for sale. Melamine-faced particleboard manufacturing was 4.1% higher, as it had been after six months. Laminate element output dipped 0.7%.
