Latvia exported 254,300 m³ of plywood in the first nine months. Although this figure was 4.7% less than in the same stretch last year, foreign deliveries increased by 5.6% in value terms to reach €183.7m. Latvia had already seen the volumes and values of its plywood exports head in opposite directions in the first half of the year. According to quarterly foreign trade figures published by the Forestry Department within the Latvian Ministry of Agriculture plywood exports were down just 2.9% at 175,700 m³ between January and June. The value of these shipments had also shown smaller growth than in the nine-month period, with a 1.0% improvement to €120.0m.
